The midwife wasn't totally happy with Pip's raspy breath, so a trip to the hospital was unfortunately necessary. All was fine.

Go you 2 anyway for having the home birth. I really wish I had done that.

Thanks sadalit, I recommend it unreservedly. You're comfortable, in control, and it's natural. The total opposite of a medicalised hospital birth, and no hanging around to get home afterwards.

Plus, if you're anything like me, when you have a home birth you can gatecrash your older brother's birthday party when he has it a day early.
